after releases on nowar, terpsichoré and cinematic, french artist the florian muller project gives parisian label escapade their second release. the four tracks span across a wide range of electronic sounds, showcasing the artists rich influences. friday afternoon opens the record with a solid house groove featuring a beautiful rhodes solo. hommage galactique pays a tribute to detroits hi-tech jazz sound pioneered by underground resistances galaxy 2 galaxy. on the b side, the forian muller project leaves out his jazz influences. the hypnotic sounds of frederique conjure up a mysterious, almost jungle-like, ambiance and low tech soul ends the record on a deep and atmospheric techno vibe.

after a busy year of five releases in 2012, cinematic is already back to it in 2013 with the fourth release by label debutant florian muller. alongside the burgeoning frenchmans original contributions sit some heavyweight remixes, namely from wildly idiosyncratic mathematics label boss hieroglyphic being and reference, aka detroit dub-smith luke hess and brian kage. mullers first contribution you demonstrates a predilection for dubby deepness and polished production.

following on from the very succesful xoom001, the second release heads to deep house territory via artists lp, florian muller and jemaho. opening track my lady by lp hits hard with deep chords and an infectious bassline. we welcome back florian muller again for a2 with the beautiful and spacey solar.

the >just for fun< ep starts with the title track just4fun, which in fact breathes fun and doesnt take itself too seriously. the funky and highly infectious keys and the butt shaking groove will remind you of a track that moodymann never made, but wishes he had. next comes unlimited01 with a joyful piano melody that would fit right into a french disco with a funkier version of alain delon behind the decks. still, the rhodes chords, the slow sexy groove, the vocal hooks will get you moving in no time. thang then goes into a more detroit beatdown direction with its deep chords and smooth pads. it creates a mellow atmosphere with an almost relaxed summer feeling. this is what a funky pimp would listen to on a night car drive. the ep ends with spiritual almost tribal rhythms. inspiration would be a nice soundtrack to a 70s orgy orchestrated by a groovy guru, surrounded by a magical circle of mystical dancers. over the top? sure, but the track would certainly get this party going.

the florian muller project is back on terpsichore after the well received as usual ep. sample driven, the frenchman explores his musical influences with total freedom. bothe track recorded in one live take, this ep demonstrates once again, florians great musical talent: unusual and wonderful!

the free fall, to dive head first into something, is scary for most people. for some it is the most exciting thing however and the only possible path anyways. florian is one of those driven artists who never sounds the same, his signature tone is the free fall into new soundscapes, new ways of using his analog electronic instruments and carving out the essence for the dancing individual.

the rising london based label is quickly defining his own and unique sound laying down the law with another live jam recorded 4 tracks release by his own boss dothedu. following the success of the first release, senseverse records has came back with lost acids ep, a rough lost minded trip with an unusual sense of refinement. the producer lets the trip s curtain rise with lost acids which takes us to a gloomy hidden place on the edge of the house and techno roots with a banging 909 and crescendo 303 which dives smoothly into the background own producer s voice, colombine acids explores the happier stage of the trip and keeps the sound on the thin line in between the 2 genres with his fat kick and the flying and clashing crashes. the b1 throws us right back deep into the dark with a slowed down and mentally twisted remix by the very well known producer florian kupfer. finally early acids rings down the curtain s trip with some fine classic house music sonorities that lead us to a dreamy and dancy closing.

at the vanguard of a new unbridled french jazz scene, and attracted to the rich ramifications of modern grooves, the florian pellissier quintet has since its inception in 2002 expressed an attraction for far-flung pursuits though discernible on previous albums today this fascination is front and center of bijou voyou caillou, the quintet’s fourth album, coming out on the heavenly sweetness label on april 27.

the x vinyl series continues with label head florian meindl at the helm with the upcoming release metaphysics. synonymous with deep, dark techno, florian does not disappoint with this 4 track ep, enlisting in demand producer and rabe label boss denise rabe on remixing duties. playing live with his modular synth set up, florian began working on the concept for what would become these three original tracks while playing shows over the last month. the live jam character can clearly be felt in the first two tracks metaphysics and holomorphic function. florian s original bell s theorem has a deep melodic structure. with denise rabes interpretation, the track is contorted through some serious distortion pedals and broken beat to match her dark take on the synth line. the outcome is an impressive piece for one of those never ending nights in concrete walled rooms with oversized loudspeakers.

florian is back on l.i.e.s. with another massive release. this one runs the gamut from the epic pwog styled opener contact, to industrialized beat track of random chaos to stepping broken techno on closing track z as we hear the artist further evolving and exploring his sound. by far his most diverse and mature release to date.

berlin native florian kruse has been a key part of the underground house and tech house scene for years now, and his productions have rightfully been bringing him plaudits for their emotional maturity. finding a kindred spirit in german vocalist hendrik burkhard, as theground the pair have crafted a killer new album - dediction, including these four exceptional tracks that will appear on the vinyl edition dediction ep. homeless hearts exemplifies the duo’s effect on each other - the slick, nuanced and spacy production gives way to a powerful groove, providing the perfect backing for burkhards dreamy vocal. undercover is a clear dance-floor killer, with kruses exceptional flair for programming meeting burkhard’s understated delivery. co-written by raphael hofmann silence explores some melancholic terrain before finding its way back to the floor via kruses & burkhards lush production. the ep is concluded with creature - featuring a thick growling bass and precise, arpeggiated synth lines that cut through the mix like lasers.

after almost two years it s the time for the boss asymmetrical to drop his second ep -for muthafucka use only- merging his hip hop influences with raw culture s poetry. the release features some guest appearances by with his partner in crime alter d, boss of marguerite records, rapper blue and last but not least a fine remix by florian kupfer!

commonly found lurking around l.i.e.s., technicolour and w.t. records, florian kupfer has plenty of credentials in the noisier end of the hardware house and techno scene, so it makes perfect sense to find him sidling up to valcron video in collaborative moder with torn hawk. the results are predictably excellent, from the gnarled emotional wrangles of -fake blood to the blown out ambience of hungry for candy. sweet tooth comes on like a dishevelled club workout, and then manipulation rounds the record off with a tongue in cheek spoken word and ambience piece that packs some serious music underneath the irreverent chit chat.

after his memorable ‘wolves’ ep of last year (which garnered great support and earned record of the week on b.traits bbc radio 1 show) florian busse returns to connected for his new release ‘heus’ ep on vinyl and digital,retaining and developing his idiosyncratic sound sculpting, florian has delivered another unique take for the dancefloor.

this 12 inch tells us the story of the beginning of florian’s career - his travels, dreams and of course love. title track “post present”, recorded for the first time five years ago get’s its first cut into wax. eerie, other-worldly voices reach over a kicking, distinctively kupfer-esque rhythm track. “i can’t love life without u” is a dub drive through retro-futuristic heartbreak and “&#1051,,,&#1102,,,&#1073,,,&#1086,,,&#1074,,,&#1100,,,” an ambient tip into the subconscious.
